DoD 101 is a one-day course designed to provide a basic understanding of the military services, the joint services, and the Special Operations forces within the U.S. Department of Defense. The course covers basic background, history, current manpower levels, geographical distribution of major force concentration areas, and major system acquisition programs. The course uses instructor-led lectures, practical exercises, and focused handouts. Students are also provided with an extensive reading list for further study.
